I chose some words from “Nothin’ but cowboy boots” by Blue County to talk about one of the main trends of FW2018, cowboy boots, obviously. I know they don’t have the power conferred by the country band, but they’re super stylish, now. And that is what counts for us, right?
I admit I’m a bit on the fence about cowboy boots. In Italy they’re not so “established” and finding a beautiful, stylish pair wasn’t easy until this season. Some people still see them as not particularly refined. But I’ve always find them cool and as a lover of the bond between cinema and fashion, cowboy boots make me think of the red boots Lori Singer wore in “Footloose”. I liked them so much.

How to style cowboy boots? In a time with many questionable trends, let’s say ugly (a word that has been extensively legitimized/accepted), I’d still go for a cool outfit or an elegant one with an unexpected twist, inasmuch as being unexpected is possible, nowadays. To me, fashion is still about looking good and being oneself, not chasing trends and copy some influencer that has been handsomely paid to wear something.
So I would wear cowboy boots the same way I wear and would wear ankle boots or knee high boots. With skinny jeans and pants, with leggings, with a sheath dress or a light frock, with pretty shorts (not denim ones). Right now I think I will wait for the winter sales that they’ll start in January to see if I will find a pretty pair of cowboy boots, because when it comes to shoes I usually prefer to buy them in retailers.
At the top of my cowboy boots wish list there’re these booties by Carmens, an Italian brand I recently discovered that makes so many beautiful shoes. They’re available also in red.

And these are the other best cowboy boots of the season (for me, of course), and some style inspiration to channel your inner cowgirl.
