I don’t know about you, lovelies, but I’m very sure that a touch of gold is always a good idea, most of all when it comes to home decor.
Gold immediately adds light and a touch of sophistication to a room, and you don’t need to spend a lot of money to give your place a twist of glamour.
I love golden objects and furniture and I’d love to have a golden console table. I saw a vintage one, time ago, and it looked like it came from an apartment of the Upper East Side so I didn’t even ask for the price! But I found out that Ikea makes a console (named Vittsjo) that can be turned into my dreamy one with the help of a golden spray! I also like how Brittany of Oh My Dear made an Ikea side table look so much better.
Golden spray and colors can do wonders, when it comes to decorating. Time ago I painted in silver some shells my mother found on the beach (in case there are some environmentalists among you, I know you shouldn’t take shells away from the beach but I couldn’t take them back) and they immediately looked better. And look how cute these rocks are!
I admit that when I decided to write this post I took a look at Pinterest because I was sure I would have find the Ikea console.
We all know that Pinterest and Instagram are a huge source of inspiration, too huge that when I see a photo of a house sometimes I think it looks like a place “made to measure” for socials, so a kind of cliché. Can you relate? White, gold, pink peonies and a perfectly organized/messy desk… How many times have you seen this?
So, while writing and searching photos for this post, I tried to avoid some clichés. Of course I picked some very popular items, like Urban Outfitters clothing rack (it’s so beautiful!) but I also found some beautiful and, hopefully, less common pieces (like the arm-shaped lamp, which I love).
I hope you’ll find what I chose as inspiring as I did. By the way, I also love rose gold and silver, I think they’re both as beautiful as gold.
When it comes to home accessories, I think a person should use his creativity. I onced bought a small shell-shaped pie dish to hold my rings and I use lovely glasses to hold make-up brushes, mascaras and eye pencils. I even use glasses to hold my pens, pencils and highlighters.

[…] So, even if you don’t love black as much as I do, you’ll probably agree with me about the fact that some black accents immediately add a touch of elegance and luxury, like gold. […]
