I often always read about French beauty products and how great, awesome, effective they are. Internet is full of articles titled “10 beauty products French girls love” or “skincare products French girls swear by”. Some French products are actually very good and effective, it’s true. Caudalie and Nuxe are among my favorite brands and Homeoplasmine is one of my winter must-haves. But some products are just super hyped and overrated.
I don’t know about you, but it seems that French always do it better (but this article explains why) while I thought Italians did! 😉 And to prove it, I decided to start a new series about Italian beauty products. Those that, when in Italy, a foreign woman should buy, because they’re not available abroad or they’re difficult to find.
I decided to start with I Provenzali Thalasso Scrub because it’s one of the best scrub I’ve ever used. I bought it weeks ago to replace another scrub I used last summer, which worked well but had pretty questionable ingredients and it seems not to be available anymore. Thankfully, I’d say, because this one is so much better.
I’ve always liked I Provenzali products, so when I saw the thalasso line I immediately bought the scrub but I think I will try other products, too.
I use I Provenzali Thalasso Scrub only on my butt and my thighs, because it’s shaping so I don’t see the point in using it for my back, arms and belly.
Basically it’s a salty, oily gel, in fact when I used it for the first time I was afraid it would have left my skin greasy but it left it very soft and smooth, instead. I use it at least three times a week, massaging for a minute on damp skin and leaving it for three/four minutes, just the time I usually leave the conditioner (I previously applied) in my hair. Then I rinse with cool/cold water.
This scrub contains the essential oils of mint, eucalyptus, cypress and lavandin (an hybrid of lavender plan), so it also gives you a pleasing feeling of freshness. Its exfoliating power is guaranteed by Sardinian sea salt and pumice stone.
I Provenzali is an eco-friendly brand and Thalasso Scrub is a vegan product. It only contains natural ingredients. It’s tested for heavy metals like nickel, chromium and cobalt and obviously it doesn’t contain parabens, silicons and PEGs.
Thalasso scrub is definitely one of the best body products I’ve ever used. And it’s pretty affordable, since I paid it 9,99€ (the recommended price is 12,99€). It comes in a 500 gr jar or in a 80 gr closable envelope (it recommended price is 3,19€). And it worths every cent, trust me!
