THE SONG OF THE WEEK – DIG

I don’t know anything about Black Honey, except for they are an indie band from Brighton, UK. I read somewhere that they could be a band where Lana Del Rey would play, if she was in a band.

But Black Honey’s singer is Izzy B. Phillips and in the video of “Dig”, directed by Sean James Grant, she plays a sort of femme fatale. The video is an homage to some cult films, included Quentin Tarantino’s “Pulp Fiction” and, clearly, “Romeo + Juliet” by Baz Luhrmann. In Phillips’ own words “it’s a story of love and deception in a twisted fate.”
