One of the things I liked about “T2 Trainspotting” is the great soundtrack, which includes a song that I immediately loved, “Silk” by Wolf Alice. The English band is going to release a new album, titled “Visions Of A Life” and I already love the first two songs available, “Don’t Delete The Kisses” and “Yuk Foo”, so this week there’re two songs of the week because I like them both and I didn’t want to choose only one.
“Don’t Delete The Kisses” is a beautiful and sweet song, more softly spoken than sung, and it’s about love and how we probably never change our approach to it. “I look at your picture and I smile / How awful’s that? / I’m like a teenage girl / I might as well write on my notebook / That you rock my world”. We’ve all been through it, which makes this song even more adorable.
“Yuk Foo” is a completely different song. As Sam Richards wrote for The Guardian, it’s a “thrilling, two minute surge of self-indulgent punk fury”. And Ellie Rowsell’s laugh at minute 1:26… I love it, what a cool girl! This is such a powerful song. I’m so looking forward to listening to the rest of the album, who will be released on September, 29.
